¡Puedes empezar por averiguar el significado de estos eufemismos!
1. To let someone go
«It made me feel terrible, but I had to let him go.»
a) Tuve que romper mi relación sentimental.
b) Tuve que despedir al trabajador.
2. To fall off the back of a truck
«How did you manage to get this?»
«It fell off the back of a truck»
a) Es un producto ilegal.
b) Es un objeto robado.
3. To kick the bucket
«Do you know who’s kicked the bucket?»
a) Quedarse embarazada.
b) Fallecer.
4. A few sandwiches short of a picnic
«Well, I’ve heard he’s a few sandwiches short of a picnic.»
a) Ser impotente.
b) Ser tonto.
5. To lose your marbles
«As you get older, it’s easier to lose your marbles.»
a) Montar un pollo.
b) Estar loco.
6. To be between jobs
«His wife is between jobs at the moment.»
a) Tener dos relaciones sentimentales.
b) Estar en paro.
7. To be merry
«Did you see my boss at the Christmas party last night? He was a bit merry, wasn’t he?»
a) Estar bajo el efecto de las drogas.
b) Estar borracho.
8. To be seeing someone
«I find him really attractive. Do you know if he is seeing anyone at the moment?»
a) Estar casado/a.
b) Tener un amigo/a con derecho a roce.
Y por si no lo sospechabas … la respuesta correcta a todas ellas es la opción b.
