‘The theory of everything’

“I have noticed that even people who claim everything is predetermined and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.”

“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.”

“So remember, look at the stars and not at your feet.”

“Life would be tragic if it weren’t funny.”

“It is no good getting furious if you get stuck. What I do is keep thinking about the problem but work on something else. Sometimes it is years before I see the way forward. In the case of information loss and black holes, it was 29 years.”

“I was never top of the class at school, but my classmates must have seen potential in me, because my nickname was ‘Einstein.”

“The downside of my celebrity is that I cannot go anywhere in the world without being recognized. It is not enough for me to wear dark sunglasses and a wig. The wheelchair gives me away.”

“If I had to choose a superhero to be, I would pick Superman. He’s everything that I’m not.”

“It is a waste of time to be angry about my disability. One has to get on with life and I haven’t done badly. People won’t have time for you if you are always angry or complaining.”

“Keeping an active mind has been vital to my survival, as has been maintaining a sense of humor.”

“I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first.”

“Although I cannot move and I have to speak through a computer, in my mind I am free.”

Are you ready to have a laugh? Let’s begin!

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”

“I can resist anything except temptation.”

“Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong.”

“I don’t want to go to heaven. None of my friends are there.”

“No quiero ir al cielo. Ninguno de mis amigos está allí.”

“I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.”

“Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.”

“I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.”

(REGINA RIVAS)

“ There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement and acceptance.” – John Lennon

“ Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

“ Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.” – William Shakespeare

“ Where there is love there is life.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“ When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.” – Jimi Hendrix

Love is a force capable of shaking the world and defeating hate and violence, at least that is what we want to believe. We live on such a beautiful planet, we hope one day it can be a beautiful world too.
