It’s time to chill out!
Always look on the bright side!
To soak up some sun
Soak up the sun while you can! It’s going to rain tomorrow!
To get a tan
Ponerse moreno, broncearse.
I’ve got a tan on my neck and arms but my body is very pale.
To travel light
Viajar con poco peso.
I’m sorry, it’s easy for you to travel light but I need to take shoes for every possible occasion.
To hit the beach
Ir a la playa.
I’m going to hit the beach after work. Are you coming?
To take a nap
Echarse una siesta.
I don’t usually take naps but this afternoon I felt exhausted.
To take a dip
Darse un chapuzón.
Please have a shower before you take a dip in my pool!
To put sun cream on
Ponerse crema solar.
Can you put some sun cream on the back of my legs please?
To have a blast
Pasarlo fenomenal.
Let’s meet again soon! I had an absolute blast!
To unwind
Relajarse, desestresarse.
I need a couple of weeks to unwind or I’m going to go crazy!
Summer fling
Amor de verano.
I’m single but I do have the occasional summer fling once in a while.
To walk around in flip flops
Pasear en chanclas.
I’ve been walking around all day in flip flops that’s why my feet are so dirty.
It’s as hot as hell
Hace un calor infernal.
I don’t have any air conditioning so my flat is as hot as hell!
Come rain or shine
Pase lo que pase, llueva o truene.
I’m coming to your party on Friday, come rain or shine.
Ready to hit the beach?🐠

So, if i say this: it’s time to chill out, soak up some sun and get a tan. is correct? Or i need to use ‘to’ before -soak- and -get-? THX!!

¡Hola Alejandro!
¡Gracias!

I bumped into this blog when I was looking for a Spanish phrase book. Thanks for all these examples 🙂 This summer I’ll go first to Anaheim to visit Disneyland and after that, I’m aiming to Mexico! Your article will definitely help me.
