Morning!
Have you had a coffee yet?
Any cheeky doughnuts with it?
Do you fancy learning something new today?
¿Sabes cómo se dice ‘eres muy pesado’ en inglés?
Do you feel like watching another Amigos Ingleses video today?
Did you miss us?
YES, YEAH, ALRIGHT, FINE, OK, OKAY!
Hold on! Are you completely sure?
¿Se te ocurren otra formas de decir que sí en inglés?
En este vídeo te mostramos diez:
Absolutely: por supuesto que sí.
Would you mind giving me a lift to work?
Absolutely!
It would be a pleasure: sería un placer.
Can you double check my English homework?
It’d be a pleasure!
No problem: ningún problema.
Please don’t tell anyone about my trip to Norway.
No problem.
Sure: claro, cómo no
Can you bring another chair?
Sure!
By all means: claro que sí.
Do you think I can stay at yours for a couple of nights?
By all means, I have plenty of room in my flat.
Of course: por supuesto.
Could you please pass me the cranberry sauce?
Of course, there you go.
Indeed: efectivamente, ya lo creo.
We’ve been working really hard on this project.
Indeed, it’s been a real challenge.
I don’t see why not: no veo por qué no.
Shall we invite Sam to the wedding?
I don’t see why not.
Very well: muy bien.
Would you look after my dog for a minute, please?
Very well.
I may/might as well: ya que estoy, podría también …
Vamos a ver varios ejemplos, porque se que esta nos confunde bastante.
Cuando decimos may/might as well do something, quiere decir que haremos lo que decimos, pero que no estamos especialmente interesados e incluso somos un algo reacios a ello.
I’m not working this weekend. If no plans come up, I may as well study for my CAE exam.
I’m off to Paris this week for work, I suppose I might as well visit my cousin.
I have to pick up my suit from the dry cleaners today. I guess I might as well get some groceries on the way back.
¡Esperamos que hayas aprendido algo nuevo en la clase de hoy! ✌️
Pero, pero… ¿qué es esto?
