En Internet se libra desde hace 
tiempo una guerra encarnizada para hacerse con el negocio de la música digital. Hasta la aparición de Spotify, iTunes era el líder indiscutible a nivel global. Ahora, con el inminente desembarco del primero en Estados Unidos, Steve Jobs tiene razones para estar preocupado, especialmente tras las noticias que estos días han apuntado a una posible alianza entre Spotify y Google. Según han desvelado algunos medios, el todopoderoso buscador – que ultima el lanzamiento del esperado Google Music-, parece haber llegado a la conclusión de que no tiene sentido ofrecer un servicio similar al de la plataforma sueca de música en streaming, y que es preferible aunar fuerzas y aprovecharse de la experiencia adquirida en Europa por Spotify para, juntos, penetrar con éxito en el vasto mercado estadounidense y ganarle la batalla a iTunes. Por el contrario, otras informaciones aseguran que dichas negociaciones, aunque existen, tienen pocas posibilidades de salir adelante.
Las ventajas de Spotify y Google Music frente a lo que hasta ahora ha sido el funcionamiento de iTunes son evidentes: no hay que pagar por descargar los discos, sino que estos se almacenan en lo que se conoce como la nube, a la que el usuario accede, o bien pagando una cuota mensual, o bien de manera gratuita y limitada. Sin embargo, la compañía de Jobs siempre se caracterizó por saber anticiparse al futuro, y hace tiempo que encamina sus pasos a un salto definitivo al streaming que, hoy más que nunca, parecer estar a la vuelta de la esquina. Uno de ellos se ha destapado hoy mismo: mientras que Spotify experimenta grandes dificultades para obtener el catálogo de algunas multinacionales, una de ellas, Warner, ya ha alcanzado un acuerdo con iTunes para la cesión de toda su discografía. Al mismo tiempo que todo esto ocurre, Amazon ha puesto en marcha su propia plataforma de música en streaming y HP planea hacer lo propio.
Cabría pensar que la cohexistencia de multitud de ofertas para escuchar música en la Red beneficia al consumidor. Y sin embargo, muchos opinan que es preferible disponer de menos plataformas y que éstas ofrezcan la mayor cantidad de música posible. De lo que no hay duda es de que vivimos una época de transición sin precedentes en la que el sopote físico ha dejado de tener sentido para las masas, que ya consumen la práctica totalidad de la música a través de la Red y -muy especialmente- de los teléfonos móviles. Un modelo de negocio aún en pañales que apenas resulta rentable para el artista y por el que, sin embargo, se libra una batalla en la que, a buen seguro, muchos se quedarán por el camino.

Yo soy de la opinión de que estas compañías deberían tender hacia música streaming gratuita, eso sí que tenga anuncios como tenía spotify, o tiene grooveshark o rockola, porque hay que pagar a la gente que forma parte de ese mundo ya que sino acabará por desaparecer. Yo creo que ofreciendo esto con la publidad tendrían un gran negocio.

Tiene que haber equilibrio, cosas de pago, cosas gratis, legales, ilegales, pirata etc… No todo el mundo le sobran 5 euros para una cuenta spotify de 30 dias, para eso se usan patrocinadores, para que el pobre pueda disfrutar.
Pero hoy en dia el que tiene pasta quiere mas y el que poco tiene, la comparte.
