La industria musical, como buena industria, siempre ha gustado de inventarse nuevas e insospechadas formas de promocionar sus productos. De entre ellas, pocas son tan autobombásticas y forzadas como las entregas de premios por parte de la propia industria, un paripé onanista que, por lo general, poco o nada tiene que ver con la música en sí.
En EE UU, los Billboard han encumbrado hoy a ese pedazo de artista que es Enrique Iglesias con nueve galardones, entre otros los de mejor artista latino del año y el de mejor disco de pop latino. En la gala actuaron Maná, Gloria Trevi o Marc Anthony, entre otros. Un fiestón.
En España se dieron a conocer ayer los nombres de los ganadores de los Premios de la Música, un invento que la SGAE se sacó de la manga en 1996 y que, desde entonces y salvo contadas excepciones, vienen avergonzando profundamente a todo el que tenga el más mínimo amor por la música más allá de su presencia en las radiofórmulas.
Los galardones, cuya designación corresponde a un reducido grupo de señores de una institución llamada la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias de la Música (cuyo organigrama directivo es el mismo que el de, sorpresa, la propia SGAE) han recaído este año en Serrat, Rosendo -dos promesas en ciernes que sin duda necesitan de un empujón- y Macaco, entre otros. No hay lugar a las sorpresas: reclamarle a la SGAE que no peque de inmovilismo sería como pedirle al Papa que invite a un grupo de black metal a tocar durante su visita a Madrid.
Lo curioso del asunto es que los premios no se entregan hasta el 18 de mayo, lo cual le resta a la cita cualquier tipo de emoción, en caso de que la tuviere. Pero para qué conformarse con salir una vez en los medios si puedes salir dos.

JAJAJAJA Menuda pantomima. Espero que esos premios, nunca lleguen a buenos artistas en ciernes y si llegan, espero que no los acepten, porque destrozarían sus carreras. No tienen cuento ni nada estos de la SGAE.
