Decía que estaba emocionado con su debut en Broadway, pero Brendan Fraser, el actor que reventó las taquillas a golpe de pistoletazo con la saga de ‘La Momia’, ha visto cómo la obra que protagonizaba anunciaba el cierre una semana después de su estreno oficial, el pasado domingo, 
hundida por las críticas negativas y el desinterés del público. La culpa, según leo en varios medios, no es de Fraser, ni mucho menos a su compañero de reparto, el ganador de un Tony Denis O’Hare, (‘Mi nombre es Harvey Milk‘) sino a la «falta de humanidad» y «la incomprensible falta de gracia» de la adaptación que han hecho de ‘Elling’.
Si os suena el título de ‘Elling’ es porque la obra se basa en el filme noruego del mismo título que en 2001 fue nominado al Oscar al mejor filme extranjero, y que narraba la historia de hombres que intentan adaptarse a la vida real, después de haber salido de una institución psiquiátrica. El filme tenía el mérito de tratar un asunto serio y casi dramático con muchas dosis de humanidad y respeto; pero también con sentido del humor. Algo que parecen haberse dejado en casa los productores teatrales.
Lo siento por Fraser, un actor que me cae bien y que demostró que puede hacer más que muecas exageradas y mohínes infantiles en películas como ‘Dioses y monstruos‘ o ‘El americano impasible’ o ‘Crash’.
La obra no sé, pero la película es genial.

Los actores de cine no siempre triunfan en teatro;Aunque en este caso la adaptación haya sido la culpable….pero seguro que han tenido que ver los actores.Brendan es majete y ha defendido bien sus papeles en el cine pero no eran unos papelazos….

el salto al teatro es mas dificil de lo que puede parecer para los actores que triunfan en el cine. Hay que saber muy elegir con que obra dar el salto.

Vaya columna… Que te caiga bien un actor no es óbice para justificar su trayectoria como actor.
Los productores de la obra no desean seguir por las malas críticas cosechadas, y el desinterés del público.
Habría que ver que credibilidad tienen los críticos han hecho esas valoraciones, haber visto la obra, y película de la que se ha efectuado la posterior adaptación.
Pero la tal Diana de esto no hace ningún comentario: solo se ha limitado a recoger la noticia, supongo vía agencia, transcribirla tal cuál, y añadir algunos comentarios del todo superfluos.
¿Es este el modelo de periodismo del siglo XXI?

Brendan Fraser empezo su carrera de actor en el teatro. No hace mucho hizo el papel protagonico en La Gata Sobre el Tejado de Zinc Caliente en Londres con mucho exito de publico. La obra iba a ser llevada a Broadway, pero como habia que reemplazar a Frances O’Connor como exigia la ley en Nueva York (O’Connor es australiana y no fue aceptada por los empresarios neoyorkinos porque la ley exige que el papel protagonico y la mitad del elenco tiene que ser americano), Brendan apoyo la mocion de no cerrar el contrato con Broadway. Es un actor de teatro que encontro su nicho en Hollywood, como tantos otros.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of «neighbors» will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune «Social» is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
