Ayer me enviaron la dirección URL de una comunidad online fundada para crear contactos “entre personas que por su atractivo físico y sus cualidades personales destacan sobre la mayoría” (ahí queda eso). El sitio es una comunidad virtual. Pero igual que en otras comunidades todo tipo de gente se reúne para hablar de música, ciencia, deporte… y por supuesto acabar ligando, aquí el punto en común es que se supone que son todos guapos, guapos.
Según información de la empresa, sólo se suele aceptar a uno de cada cuatro españolit@s de a pie que pretenden hacerse socios. BeautifulPeople afirma que tienen una “tecnología de votación revolucionaria”. La revolución consiste en que durante tres días los ya socios (guap@s demostrados, parece ser) le votan a uno si es guapo o feo, y si obtiene suficientes votos positivos del sexo opuesto, es admitido en la comunidad.
En teoría la web surge porque, como afirman en la propia comunidad, la gente busca relacionarse con personas de su misma actitud, estatus social y apariencia física. En otras palabras, guapos con guapos, feos con feos (este no es el sitio), ricos con ricos, pobres con pobres, etc. Por supuesto, no hay forma de saber si las fotos son de quien las envía (juzguen ustedes por la foto), pero el apartado ‘Acerca de’ me basta como acercamiento al tema.
Aunque he de reconocer que no estoy familiarizada con este tipo de webs, no deja de sorprenderme cómo se puede hacer esa clase de declaración de intenciones. Confío en que sus creadores no se tomen en serio sus palabras y, por supuesto, la gente que participa tampoco.

era necesario crear este tipo de portal. así todos los estúpidos y superficiales se quedan en su cibercorralito sin molestar a las personas inteligentes, desperdiciando nuestro carísimo tiempo.bien por el portal de supuestos guapos!
