Como a Karl Kraus, que no se le ocurría nada que decir sobre Hitler, yo no sabría qué escribir sobre Samuel Beckett. No es -lo prometo- un fácil guiño beckettiano, sino una imposibilidad manifiesta. Las exégesis de su obra, hasta las más brillantes y profundas, son necesariamente un corolario amargo. Por los siglos de los siglos.
Yo me limito, como millones, a leerlo y no opinar. A dejarme deslumbrar por la genialidad y ceder gustoso a ser arrasado en nombre del vacío: “Fija estos garabatos de hermosura en la paleta / nunca se sabe si esto puede ser el final”.
Pero ya. Beckett no dejó nunca de expresarse poéticamente, no importa que fuera en novelas u obras de teatro. También escribió propiamente poemas. En ellos está todo él, reducido pero igual de complejo, desolador y sarcástico. Este que os traigo hoy, uno de los varios maravillosos que escribió en francés, es algo así como una coda a todas sus inquietudes del espíritu.
