¿Se imaginan un motor Red Bull? Pues no es ninguna tontería porque el propietario de la bebida energética, Dietrich Mateschitz, no descarta que sus monoplazas sean impulsados por motores de fabricación propia a medio plazo:
«Estamos a la expectativa para ver si encontramos una asociación interesante de cara al futuro. Incluso barajamos la idea de desarrollar nuestro propio motor. Creo que no es algo tan absurdo»
El director deportivo de la escudería, Christian Horner, también comentó que la idea de Mateschitz no es tan descabellada:
«Es importante mantener todas las opciones abiertas. Esa siempre ha sido una de las grandes fortalezas del Sr. Mateschitz»
La escudería Red Bull, que de momento sigue montando motores Renault, también baraja la posibilidad de asociarse con Volkswagen para que la multinacional alemana sea su nuevo proveedor de propulsores.
Hay que recordar que en McLaren también están estudiando la posibilidad de fabricar sus propios motores y prescindir de la asociación con Mercedes.

El motor Renault cumplio bien en los Red, pero no ha sido el motor mas performante de la sesion, eso esta claro. El hecho de que Alonso no pudiese adelantar a Petrov en la ultima carrera, no significa que el motor del F2010 haya sido inferior, ahi esta la demostracion de Monza y de otras carreras para atestiguarlo

No veo, la verdad, a Red-Bull haciendo su propio motor, pues tardarían varios años en ser competitivos. Sí que me parece interesante y nada descabellado, que se asocien con alguien (el grupo Volkwagen a través de Audi, o tal vez Porsche) que quiera entrar con las nuevas normas en 2013. Los motores turbo de los años 80 daban esa potencia pues habia una cosa que se llamaba motor de clasificación: usaban el motor solo para la crono, así que ese motor tenia que dar 4 o 5 vueltas buenas y ya está.
Luego en carrera no sacaban 1000 cv ni de coña. Trabajando a esa potencia el motor no dura una carrera. Creo recordar que en carrera sacaban entre 400 y 600 cv, dependiendo del coche y de la carrera.
Poner turbinas a los motores es una buena idea, limiarlos a 1.6 no. Con esos motores los coches ma rápidos serán mas lentos que los mas lentos de ahora. Es ir acia atrás.

que no os crujaisss!!!….que la cilindrada en F1, es lo de menos…….de hecho en los 90 prohibieron los motores turbo no solo por seguridad…..el Rs10 1.500 cc biturbo de Renault dio unas cuantas alegrias aunque le costo llega…que poca cultura teneis…..algunos….iros a ver «futbol» anda….al menos los que penseis que un 1.500 de un fiat es lo mismo que un 1.500 en un F1 ok?….y sin animo de faltar eh? 🙂

El Lotus renault de Ayrton Senna disponia de un motor v6 Renault de 1500cc y desarrollaba 1800 cv de potencia,el problema era dificil aplicar esa potencia al suelo,por la tecnologia del chasis,neumaticos y suspensiones.
Y ademas los recortes en la valvula de presion del turbo,eran autenticos misiles con efecto suelo pero sin la seguridad de los actuales monoplazas,aplaudo la vuelta del turbo.
En cuanto a lo de fabricar motores me parece una tonteria,seran al estilo de los Ford Cosworth que no andan ni para atras.
